Job summary

Barnsley College invites applications for two Lecturers in Business to join the dynamic Business Department. You will deliver engaging lessons and support learners from Level 2 to Higher Education, shaping curriculum development, assessments, and learner progress.

We welcome experienced lecturers or industry professionals transitioning to teaching. The role emphasises collaboration with the Course Leader and team, plus active involvement in employer engagement and student outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Teaching qualification (Cert Ed, PGCE or equivalent) is required.
  • Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.
  • At least 2 years' experience of working within an education setting.
  • Experience of delivering learning to a range of learners.
  • Experience of developing learning materials.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and innovative lessons across a range of Business programmes.
  • Support learners from Level 2 through to Higher Education.
  • Contribute to learner recruitment activities, curriculum planning and employer engagement.

Lecturer Department: Business Salary: £34,484 - £38,811 per annum Contract Type: Permanent Full time 37 hours per week Reference: REC2505 | Closing Date: Sunday 27th September 2026 The Opportunity Barnsley College is seeking two enthusiastic and knowledgeable Lecturers in Business to join our successful Business Department. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with teaching experience and/or relevant industry expertise to inspire and develop the next generation of business professionals. Working closely with the Course Leader and wider curriculum team, you will deliver engaging and innovative lessons across a range of Business programmes, supporting learners from Level 2 through to Higher Education. You will play a key role in curriculum development, assessment, learner progress and achievement, helping students to reach their full potential. You will also contribute to learner recruitment activities, curriculum planning, employer engagement and departmental initiatives that support outstanding student outcomes. About You You will be passionate about Business education and committed to providing an excellent learning experience for all students. With strong communication and organisational skills, you will be able to motivate and inspire learners while supporting their academic and personal development. You will be a collaborative team player with current industry knowledge and the ability to develop engaging learning resources and teaching approaches.
