Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in the United Kingdom seeks an Associate to lead the Newcastle Highways & Active Travel team, delivering schemes for Local Authorities and other clients. You will mentor engineers, manage fees and bids, and foster collaboration across multidisciplinary design teams.

You will develop and sustain relationships with Local Authorities, National Highways, Network Rail and developers, while guiding projects from concept to delivery in a fast-evolving transport sector.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Chartered or Incorporated member of ICE or CIHT.
• Significant experience delivering highways and active travel projects for Local Authority clients.
• Strong commercial awareness including fee proposals and project financial management.
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary project teams.
• Experience developing and maintaining client relationships.
• Experience with Road Safety Audits.

Responsibilities

• Take a leadership role within the Newcastle Highways and Active Travel team.
• Develop and maintain client relationships across Local Authorities as well as National Highways, Network Rail, Combined Authorities, Developers and/or major Contractors.
• Identify and secure opportunities for business growth including leading fee proposals and contributing to major bids and framework opportunities.
• Direct multidisciplinary design teams delivering transportation schemes.
• Mentor Principal Engineers, Engineers, Graduates and Apprentices.
• Promote collaboration across delivery teams.
• Train and mentor staff including graduates and apprentices.
