Job summary

X-on in Melton, Woodbridge is hiring an Associate Software Engineer to help build the infrastructure powering next-generation call experiences and data insight tools for NHS customers. You will work in a small agile team, building a Go-based Voice Agent and API integrations with AI providers.

You will engage in tool development for LLM interactions, data transcription/analysis pipelines, and prompt engineering to ensure safe, accurate healthcare AI. Hybrid working arrangements offered.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in a backend language with Go (Golang) emphasis or willingness to cross-train from other languages.
• Experience consuming RESTful APIs and handling JSON data structures.
• Practical experience with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) and concepts like RAG, System Prompts, and Temperature.
• Understanding of asynchronous programming and WebSockets is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a Go-based Voice Agent as part of a small agile team.
• Develop and extend the unified AI API interfacing telephony products with AI providers.
• Create tools to enable LLMs to interact with real-world data (RAG, API calls).
• Build data pipelines to transcribe/analyze historical call data for sentiment, summaries, and outcomes.
• Refine prompts and maintain safe, accurate, empathetic AI in healthcare contexts.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, participate in architecture/design discussions, and report progress.
