Job summary

Birmingham City Council is seeking an Associate Framework Lead to shape procurement frameworks and drive value for money for Birmingham. The role focuses on developing and delivering framework agreements, advising stakeholders, and leading procurement projects to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.

You will use market intelligence and data to identify opportunities for improvement, and contribute to digital and AI-enabled procurement solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting the development of procurement strategies, framework agreements and sourcing activity within a regulated procurement environment.
• Strong knowledge of procurement legislation, governance and commercial best practice, with an understanding of framework agreements.
• Experience building productive relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers and partners, providing trusted commercial advice.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret commercial and performance data to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
• Experience using procurement systems and technology to enhance procurement delivery and commercial outcomes.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to explain complex procurement matters to a range of audiences.
• A commitment to continuous professional development, with a willingness to work towards a Level 5 CIPS Diploma if not already achieved.

Are you an experienced procurement professional with a passion for framework agreements and strategic sourcing? Birmingham City Council is looking for an Associate Framework Lead to join our newly established Frameworks Team.

This is an exciting opportunity to support the development and delivery of innovative framework agreements that maximise value for money, improve procurement efficiency and strengthen supplier relationships. Working within a modern Commercial and Procurement Service, you'll help shape procurement strategies, provide expert advice and deliver framework solutions that support better public services across Birmingham.

About the Role
