Job summary

Hoare Lea is seeking an Associate Electrical Engineer to join our Bournemouth or Reading offices. You will lead large-scale, complex projects, coordinate multiple disciplines, and act as the main client contact, delivering profitable schemes and building strong relationships.

You will drive bid preparation, manage stakeholder expectations, and mentor a local high-performing team while seeking efficiencies and new opportunities. The role requires Chartered status and strong IT/English skills.

Qualifications

• Chartered status or equivalent professional recognition.
• Strong technical knowledge in electrical engineering and cross-discipline understanding.
• Excellent English communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to lead a local team and manage multiple stakeholders.
• Track record in bid preparation and client relationship building.

Responsibilities

• Be the client point of contact and coordinate multiple disciplines.
• Lead large-scale schemes and oversee project delivery.
• Secure profitable schemes and monitor expenditure.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships to win future work.
• Coordinate with senior management on cost and resource reporting.
• Delegate, monitor and check work undertaken by others.
• Recruit and lead a high-performing local team and participate in interviews.
• Monitor project expenditure and report to senior management.
• Report cost and resource requirements to the management team.
