Job summary

Morgan Hunt Group Limited is seeking an Electrical Building Services Engineer to design, specify, and deliver electrical systems across projects. You will produce calculations and drawings, support during client meetings, and supervise site work while ensuring compliance with standards.

Ideal candidates will have a degree in Building Services or Electrical Engineering and hands-on experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and Dialux, plus UK driving licence for site travel.

Qualifications

Degree or equivalent in Building Services Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
Postgraduate experience in a consultancy is advantageous.
Ideally holds a full UK driving licence for site travel.
Experience with AutoCAD and Revit is essential.
Proficient with Excel and Word.
Experience with Dialux and Trimble is preferred.
Strong knowledge of electrical building services standards.

Responsibilities

Understand project briefs and design/specification of Electrical Building Services systems (power, earthing, lighting, life safety, telecoms, security, access control, lifts, lightning protection).
Produce detailed calculations using industry tools (Excel, Dialux, Amtech, etc.).
Represent the organisation in meetings with clients and contractors.
Conduct site surveys, inspections and monitor works on site.
Prepare reports and technical notes; maintain thorough records per company standards.
Ensure adherence to quality, environmental and governance processes.

The services on offer range from design, TTD, dilapidations, surveys, NEC 3, decarb studies, technically advisory work and more. They operate across multiple sectors including Education, Commercial, Healthcare and MoD.

Role

Ensuring an understanding of project briefs. Design and specification of all Electrical Building Services systems .
Design and specification of all Electrical Building Services systems - power, earthing, lighting, life safety, telecoms, security, access control, lifts, lightning protection etc.
Carry out (and managing of others), in the production of detailed calculations using industry standard software tools including Excel, dialux, Amtech, in-house developed tools, etc.
Representing the organisation at meetings with clients and contractors.
Site surveys, inspections and monitoring of site works.
Report and technical note writing.
Maintaining complete records and archives to company standards.
Adherence to all quality, environmental and governance processes.

Qualifications/Experience

Degree qualified, or equivalent qualification, in Building Services Engineering / Electrical Engineering or related subjects.
Post graduate work experience within a similar consultancy or other relevant business
Ideally have a full UK driving licence, to enable travel to sites as and when required, either as part of wider design team, or individually
Experienced in the use of AutoCAD, Revit is ideal
Experienced in the use of Microsoft Excel and Word
Experience with Dialux,Trimble
Use knowledge of electrical systems to carry out electrical building services design
Have a detailed knowledge of appropriate technical standards.
