Job summary

True Engineers is seeking a Principal or Associate Electrical Design Engineer to join our MEP/building services team in Hertfordshire with hybrid working. The role offers £60k-£75k plus benefits and involvement in UK and European projects across industrial, research and pharmaceutical sectors.

You will lead detailed electrical design, liaise with clients and other professionals, and support junior staff while delivering technically challenging design solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Building Services or Electrical Engineering preferred.
• Solid electrical design experience in building services sector.
• Chartered or working towards chartership advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Detailed electrical design drawings for building services projects.
• Prepare specifications, schedules and design development reports.
• Manage projects from inception to completion and through handover.
• Undertake site surveys and site attendance as required.
• Produce feasibility reports and cost estimates.
• Attend progress meetings and review installations.
• Support junior staff and maintain client relationships.
• Collaborate with structural engineers, architects, surveyors and contractors.

Consultancy / Construction / MEP / Building Services / Senior Electrical Design Engineer / Associate Electrical Design Engineer / Principal Electrical Dsign Engineer

This role is for a team playing senior electrical design engineer, you will join the MEP team of an established multi-disciplinary consultancy reporting to the electrical director.

You’ll be working on complex and high specification design and/or construction projects, creating or upgrading industrial, research, manufacturing process and pharmaceuticals. Projects are based throughout the UK and Europe and there is an emphasis on technically challenging work

Responsibilities

• Detailed design drawings with a specialisation in electrical system design.
• Preparing specifications and schedules and design development reports.
• Taking projects through from inception to completion and handover.
• Undertaking survey work.
• Production of feasibility reports.
• Producing cost estimates
• Attend site progress meetings and review installations.
• Supporting junior staff.
• Maintaining good client relationships.
• Liaising closely with other professionals, including structural engineers, architects, surveyors, and contractors of in-house and external project teams.

Experience Required

• Preferably a bachelor's or master's degree in building services or electrical engineering.
• Solid electrical design experience in the building services sector.
• Chartered or working towards chartership would be advantageous although not essential.
• Great interpersonal skills, a team player and a genuine interest in helping others.
