Job summary

WSP is seeking an Associate Director to lead urban drainage modelling within its award-winning water team in the UK. You will shape technical delivery, guide teams, and influence outcomes for major clients such as Severn Trent and Scottish Water Horizons.

You’ll bring Chartered status or progress toward it, strong knowledge of wastewater hydraulics and InfoWorks ICM, and the ability to mentor others while driving innovative project delivery. Hybrid working options are available across the UK.

Qualifications

• A relevant degree and chartered, or significantly progressed toward chartership with ICE, IEI, IoW or CIWEM.
• Clear and successful experience of wastewater hydraulic modelling (InfoWorks ICM).
• Ability to check technical outputs of others prior to issue.
• Good presentation, written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of urban drainage modelling capability and keep the team ahead of evolving methods and standards.
• Support the team lead with day-to-day management of the technical delivery team.
• Provide authoritative technical input on urban drainage projects and support innovative project delivery.
• Apply independent professional judgement to solve engineering challenges and drive innovation.
• Build strong, trusted client relationships and facilitate project meetings.
• Contribute to business development, proposals and strategic growth opportunities.
• Represent WSP in industry forums and conferences.
• Share knowledge to develop the wider water team.
