AtkinsRéalis is seeking a high-caliber Associate Director for its Project & Programme Management Team in Edinburgh. The successful candidate will join a highly successful and established team of project and programme management practitioners across Scotland.

You will lead within the team, working collaboratively to deliver high-quality projects and technical excellence for clients across our key sectors.

You should demonstrate a proven track record in leading and delivering effective project management services, preferably within Scotland and Northern Ireland. A commitment to continuous improvement through learning, development, and business development is essential. You will work collaboratively with sector and service leadership and own initiatives that develop our business and strategic objectives.

Key Attributes:

  • A highly motivated and collaborative project management professional experienced in delivering best practices on complex projects.
  • Client-facing project management consultancy experience in development, commercial property, or public sectors is desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to lead multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience acting as an NEC Project Manager is essential.
  • Ability to articulate construction industry knowledge and technical expertise to clients and colleagues.
  • A proactive approach to developing client relationships and accounts.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage construction projects through their lifecycle, utilizing best practices.
  • Build positive relationships with stakeholders, aligned with AtkinsRéalis values.
  • Serve as the primary client interface, ensuring service delivery and acting as a key stakeholder and account lead.
  • Oversee project commercial success, including account management, governance, and resources.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, standards, and standards.
  • Manage workload and provide guidance and technical expertise within the team.
  • Mentor junior team members and support their development.
  • Collaborate with regional and UK sector leads to develop new business opportunities.
  • Lead fee proposal and bid preparation.
  • Lead large, complex projects from inception to completion with minimal support.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legal and technical matters relevant to the work and region.
  • Apply quality assurance and environmental management principles.
  • Prioritize personal safety and organizational values in interactions.

Requirements:

  • Degree in a construction-related discipline or equivalent.
  • Membership of a recognized professional institution (MRICS, MAPM, or equivalent).
  • Positive, collaborative, and innovative approach, able to work independently.
  • Experience leading client-facing project management services.
  • Experience building client relationships and networks.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and delivering projects via recognized methodologies.
  • Technical knowledge and experience with UK building contracts (NEC and JCT).
  • Understanding of health, safety, and environmental legislation in the UK construction sector.
  • Committed to personal development.
  • Valid UK driving license.
