The Associate Director, Project Implementation Advisor (PIA) is a lead in the PPAD Implementation team for a project portfolio in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). The role involves acting as a procurement and implementation specialist throughout the project cycle to minimize risks and ensure robust arrangements from project development to completion. The Associate Director will contribute to policy dialogue with public procurement authorities and assist in annual procurement planning for Bank-funded projects, leveraging an extensive regional and internal network to enhance cooperation and resolve conflicts.
The role safeguards the Bank’s fiduciary responsibilities, ensuring timely and efficient project implementation in accordance with the Bank’s Procurement Policies and Rules (PPR). The Associate Director will also manage conflicts of interest and provide leadership and support to procurement team members.
This position primarily supports projects in SSA, with potential assistance in other regions as needed.
