Job summary

Insight Executive Group (IEG) is recruiting for an Associate Director of Property Strategy to lead the Surrey NHS Foundation Trust’s property strategy, asset management and space utilisation. You will shape investment priorities and drive value across a large, complex estate while collaborating with clinical teams to align estate plans with future patient care.

• Experience in managing a large, complex organisation.
• Understanding commercial and financial realities of a property portfolio.
• NHS estates experience valued but not required.

Responsibilities

• Develop long-term property and estates strategy, including its Property Implementation Plan.
• Lead property and asset management, portfolio planning and productivity improvement teams.
• Shape investment priorities, business cases and decisions around acquisitions, disposals and estate development.
• Improve space planning to support changing clinical and operational needs.
• Use data/insight to drive efficiencies and demonstrate value for money.
• Work with senior leaders and clinical teams to turn priorities into estate plans.

We're working with Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust to recruit an Associate Director of Property Strategy, a senior leadership opportunity with real influence over how the Trust's property portfolio develops.

This is about making the estate work harder, smarter and better for the people who depend on it.

Reporting to the Director of Estates & Facilities, you'll lead the Trust's approach to property strategy, asset management, estate investment and space utilisation. You'll help ensure that decisions made today support the clinical services of tomorrow.

What you'll be doing

• Developing and delivering the Trust's long-term property and estates strategy, including its Property Implementation Plan.
• Leading property and asset management, portfolio planning and productivity improvement teams.
• Shaping investment priorities, business cases and strategic decisions around acquisitions, disposals and estate development.
• Improving how space is planned and used to support changing clinical and operational needs.
• Using better data and insight to drive efficiencies, improve performance and demonstrate value for money.
• Working closely with senior leaders and clinical teams to turn organisational priorities into practical estate plans.

What we're looking for

You’ll bring significant senior leadership experience across property, estates strategy or asset management within a large, complex organisation.

You’ll understand the commercial and financial realities of managing a substantial property portfolio, alongside the importance of bringing people with you when driving change.

NHS estates experience would be valuable, but we’re equally interested in experienced strategic property leaders who can bring fresh thinking and a strong track record of delivery.
