Job summary

AECOM's Nature team is recruiting an Associate Ecologist to join in the UK, with opportunities across offices in Manchester, Leeds, and other locations. You will lead ecological inputs, produce assessments, and mentor junior staff while delivering projects across energy, water and transport sectors.

We're seeking demonstrable planning and delivery experience on UK/ Ireland projects, strong wildlife knowledge, and membership of a professional body (CIEEM) with progress towards Chartership.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience in planning and delivering ecological services on UK or Ireland projects.
• Well-developed understanding of wildlife conservation and legislation.
• Membership of a professional institution with progress toward Chartership (CIEEM or related).

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and delivery of ecological inputs for internal and external clients.
• Produce and review ecological assessments (PEA, BSG Reports, EIAs, HRA, Biodiversity Net Gain).
• Provide technical leadership for pragmatic, proportionate solutions.
• Lead client and stakeholder consultations with authorities and the public.
• Support development of technical capabilities and embed innovation.
• Lead bids and tenders for ecological services.
• Mentor and support junior staff and peers.
