Associate Director / Director - Structural Engineering

London

£80k-£85k plus benefits

We are working with an established and highly regarded independent building consultancy to help them find an Associate Director or Director level structural engineer in their London office.

This is a senior leadership position for a Chartered Structural Engineer with strong technical expertise, commercial awareness and the ability to develop client relationships and lead a high-performing team.

The role offers a varied project portfolio spanning new-build developments, refurbishment, structural investigations, remediation and forensic engineering, providing the opportunity to work on technically challenging projects for commercial developers, institutional investors and other key clients.

The successful candidate will lead complex structural engineering projects from initial instruction through to completion, providing high-level technical and commercial advice. Responsibilities will include structural assessments, surveys, defect investigations, technical reviews and the development of practical remediation solutions relating to issues such as fire, flooding, subsidence, impact damage and structural defects.

The role will involve building strong relationships with clients, consultants and contractors, while providing technical leadership and mentoring to engineers and graduates.

There will also be opportunities to contribute to business development, client growth and the continued development of technical standards and best practice, as well as representing the business through presentations, CPD seminars and industry events.

Applicants should be Chartered (MIStructE or MICE) with significant consultancy experience and a proven track record of leading projects and acting as a senior client contact.

A broad structural engineering background covering new-build and refurbishment projects, together with strong experience in structural investigations, remediation and defect diagnosis, is highly desirable.

Excellent communication and analytical skills are essential, along with strong engineering judgement and commercial awareness. The successful candidate will also be a supportive and collaborative leader with a genuine passion for mentoring and developing technical teams.
