Handpicked Recruitment Ltd is seeking an Associate Director/Director – Chartered Structural Engineer for a leading independent building consultancy in the UK. You will lead complex projects, mentor engineers, and shape the growth of the Structural Engineering team.

The role covers remediation, new-build, investigations and expert technical consultancy for developers and institutional clients. You will engage with clients, deliver reports, and promote in-house expertise.

Qualifications

• Chartered Structural Engineer with MIStructE or MICE.
• Broad structural engineering experience in new-build and refurbishment.
• Significant remediation experience including fire, flood, subsidence and defects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Commercial awareness and ability to drive business growth.
• Proven mentoring of junior engineers and graduates.

Key accountabilities

• Lead and manage complex structural engineering projects from initial instruction through to completion.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors and other stakeholders.
• Undertake structural assessments, investigations and technical reviews.
• Deliver holistic structural engineering consultancy advice to commercial developer and institutional investor clients’
• Deliver innovative solutions for structural remediation following fire, flooding, subsidence, impact damage and structural defects.
• Carry out and oversee structural surveys, defect investigations and forensic engineering assessments.
• Produce high-quality technical reports and engineering advice.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers and graduates.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions.
• Contribute to business development by identifying opportunities and promoting the companies in-house technical expertise.
• Support the continuous development of technical standards and best practice across the business.
• Represent the client through presentations, technical papers, industry events and professional networking.
