Job summary

WSP is recruiting an Associate Director for the Regulated Water Asset Design team to drive civil engineering design across wastewater, water treatment, and network schemes in the UK and internationally. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams, manage budgets and schedules, and mentor graduates and apprentices while pursuing Chartered status where possible.

Qualifications

• A degree in Civil Engineering.
• Chartered status, or progression towards ICE/CIWEM.
• Experience in managing engineering design teams.
• Delivery of projects to identified budget and schedule.
• Mentoring or coaching junior civil engineering staff.
• Client-facing experience.
• Good presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership for all aspects of project delivery including health & safety, technical, quality, schedule and budget.
• Manage multi-disciplinary teams.
• Shape the delivery of services and identify opportunities to deliver additional services.
• Build relationships with Clients to ensure outcomes and satisfaction.
• Contribute to innovative approaches, new services and digital products.
• Support Future Ready and Net Zero programmes.
• Act as ambassador for best practice within Asset Design.
• Undertake bid preparation, resource and budget development.
• Line manage and develop graduates and apprentices.
• Support recruitment and growth of the civil engineering team.
• Develop technical, managerial and leadership skills.
