Job summary

WSP is seeking an Associate Director in Scotland, joining our Building Structures team from Glasgow or Edinburgh. You will lead projects, provide technical direction, and deliver schemes from inception through to handover to clients, coordinating with architects, engineers and consultants.

You will mentor junior staff, engage in tendering and business development, and manage fees and risk while upholding high standards of design and sustainability across UK and international projects.

Qualifications

• Proven track record delivering design on major projects and multi-disciplinary schemes.
• Experience in concept design and project inception stages.
• Project management and technical delivery leadership on medium to large schemes.
• Strong interpersonal and client-facing communication skills.
• Experience managing commercial and technical risk on projects.
• Line management and mentoring responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Own and lead the design process for large multi-disciplinary projects from inception to handover.
• Provide technical leadership and coordinate with architects, engineers and consultants.
• Lead tender bids and contribute to business development when opportunities arise.
• Agree fees and manage the financial position of projects.
• Mentor junior team members toward Chartership.
