Job summary

WSP Structures Scotland in Glasgow and Edinburgh seeks an Associate Director to lead project management, technical leadership and delivery of schemes from inception through handover. Join the expanding Building Structures team on UK and international projects, including healthcare, education and data centres.

You will develop innovative designs, lead multi-disciplinary design projects, mentor junior staff, manage fees and risks, and collaborate with architects, engineers and clients.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of successful design delivery on major projects.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary design teams from concept to delivery.
• Strong commercial and technical management of projects using appropriate tools.
• Experience in client liaison and securing consultancy engagements.
• Chartered with MIStructE/MICE and relevant degree or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Own and lead the design process for large multi-disciplinary projects.
• Manage project inception, delivery, and handover to clients.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior staff.
• Agree fees, manage project commercial position, and mitigate risks.
• Collaborate with Architects, Engineers and external consultants.
• Ensure sustainable design and compliance with national codes.
