Job description

Join us at Barclays as an Associate Director within the International Corporate Bank Financial Institutions sector. You will have a key role in assisting the Relationship Director with managing the banking requirements of our Financial Institutions clients across the Americas. This is an ideal opportunity to support existing relationships, take ownership of some accounts, and contribute to the continued success of the sector.

To be successful as an Associate Director, you should have experience with:

  1. Corporate Banking Product Knowledge (Cash management, Wholesale Lending/Credit, Trade Finance, FX, Risk Management, Debt Capital Markets)
  2. Corporate Coverage relationship management (Financial Institutions preferred but not essential)
  3. Understanding Investment Banking product offerings and relevance to client needs

Some other highly valued skills include:

  1. Excellent communication and presentation skills
  2. Ability to engage with a range of internal and external stakeholders
  3. Effective credit skills, analysis and interpretation of financial data
  4. Knowledge of the Correspondent Banking sector in the Americas would be beneficial

The role is based out of our London Office.

Purpose of the role

To establish and nurture profitable partnerships with both corporate and individual clients. It's the bridge between the bank's offerings and clients' needs, ensuring mutual benefit and long-term success.

Accountabilities
  1. Manage client relationships to identify financial goals, challenges, and risk tolerance, supporting data analysis from various sources to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  2. Research and understand industry trends, regulatory landscape, and competitive environment to inform strategic recommendations.
  3. Design customized solutions addressing clients' specific needs, incorporating a range of bank products and services.
  4. Communicate the value proposition of solutions, justify recommendations, and negotiate beneficial terms.
  5. Provide guidance to clients for financial decisions, including investment advice, risk and wealth management strategies, and market updates.
  6. Assess and mitigate financial, legal, and operational risks associated with client relationships.
  7. Document all client interactions, transactions, and agreements for transparency and audit purposes.
  8. Monitor client satisfaction, revenue, and other metrics to evaluate relationship management effectiveness.
