Job description

Join us at Barclays as an Associate Director within the International Corporate Bank Financial Institutions sector. You will play a key role in supporting the Relationship Director by managing the banking needs of our Financial Institutions clients across the Americas. This is an excellent opportunity to support existing relationships, manage some accounts independently, and contribute to the sector's growth.

Key Experience and Skills Required:

  1. Corporate Banking Product Knowledge: Cash management, Wholesale Lending/Credit, Trade Finance, FX, Risk Management, Debt Capital Markets
  2. Corporate Coverage relationship management (Financial Institutions experience preferred)
  3. Understanding of Investment Banking products and their relevance to client needs
  4. Excellent communication and presentation skills
  5. Stakeholder engagement abilities
  6. Financial analysis and interpretation skills
  7. Knowledge of the Correspondent Banking sector in the Americas is advantageous

The role is based in our London Office. You may be assessed on skills such as risk management, change and transformation, strategic thinking, digital and technological proficiency, alongside technical banking skills.

Purpose of the Role:

To build and maintain profitable partnerships with corporate and individual clients, aligning bank offerings with client needs to ensure mutual long-term success.

Accountabilities include:

  1. Managing client relationships to understand their financial goals, challenges, and risk tolerance, and analyzing data to identify trends and opportunities.
  2. Researching industry trends, regulatory environments, and competitors to inform strategic advice.
  3. Designing tailored solutions using the bank’s products and services.
  4. Communicating value propositions, negotiating terms, and ensuring beneficial agreements.
  5. Providing ongoing guidance on investments, risk, and market trends to foster positive relationships.
  6. Assessing and managing risks associated with client relationships.
  7. Documenting interactions and transactions for transparency and compliance.
  8. Monitoring client satisfaction and revenue metrics to evaluate relationship effectiveness.

Expectations for Assistant Vice President:

  1. Advising, influencing decision-making, and collaborating across divisions.
  2. Leading or contributing to complex projects, coaching team members, and setting objectives.
  3. Demonstrating leadership behaviors such as listening, inspiring, aligning, and developing others.
  4. Managing risks, developing policies, and strengthening controls.
  5. Engaging in complex data analysis and communicating complex information effectively.
  6. Influencing stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
