As part of our strategic expansion, we have set up a new office in Manchester to better serve our clients and stakeholders in the region.
The associate director (Planning) (Non-Executive) will play a crucial role in leading our new office in Manchester. The associate director will provide guidance and oversight to ensure the operational effectiveness of the new office.
This position is ideal for a seasoned professional with extensive experience in strategic planning and stakeholder management.
Key responsibilities
- Represent the company at local events and build relationships with local business communities and networks.
Compliance and governance
- Ensure all operations comply with local laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Provide regular updates to the Managing Director on progress, challenges, and opportunities.
Recruitment and team building
- Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of key personnel for the new office.
- Foster a positive and collaborative office culture that aligns with the company’s values and mission.
Performance monitoring
- Establish key performance indicators (KPls) to measure the success of the new office.
- Provide strategic insights and recommendations to improve operations and performance continuously.
Experience
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role.
- Strong strategic planning and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- In-depth knowledge of the local business environment in Manchester.
- Strong understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
- You must be able to deal with planning enquiries and deliver the full range of planning and development services to clients.
- The role will include all stages of planning work, from the preparation and submission of fee proposals, and initial appraisals, to the preparation and submission of applications (of all types), planning appeals and planning inquiries, including dealing with planning enquiries and/or planning policy advice.
