Job summary

The University of Wolverhampton invites applications for an Associate Dean to lead the Joint Educational Institute with Shanxi Medical University in China. This strategic leadership role will support the Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences in delivering world‑leading education aligned with our 2035 strategy.

Based at a UK campus (Wolverhampton or Walsall), you will travel regularly to China (minimum 90 days per year), oversee four joint programmes, fulfill the link tutor role, and contribute

Qualifications

• Strong background in academic leadership.
• Experience collaborating with international partners on high-quality TNE programmes.
• Awareness of delivering HE programmes and health-related research per MOE requirements.
• Track record of leading strategic educational initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the University’s operations across dual award programmes.
• Provide strategic direction to the Joint Educational Institute in partnership with Shanxi Medical University.
• Fulfill the link tutor role and lead student pastoral care.
• Contribute to teaching activities on one or more programmes and support 2035 strategy.
