The Role

They are currently looking for a Leader in their Civil Engineering Team at their head office in Manchester City Centre.

The role involves the design of highways and drainage, with a greater emphasis on drainage design, which constitutes a larger part of their daily work. They offer extensive benefits including:

Key Roles & Responsibilities
  1. Supervising multiple projects, ensuring compliance with standards, timely delivery of information, and quality assurance.
  2. Resource planning for the team across all projects and assessing additional resource needs.
  3. Leading and ensuring team efficiency and effectiveness.
  4. Supporting other teams with resource allocation, re-planning tasks as necessary.
  5. Participating in resource meetings and contributing positively.
  6. Understanding project fees, drawdowns, and assisting with service negotiations and design responsibilities.
  7. Reviewing and approving team’s timesheets weekly and monthly.
  8. Managing holiday requests to avoid resource bottlenecks and ensuring proper planning.
  9. Holding regular team meetings, ensuring effective communication, and briefing on tasks with appropriate skills, training, and tools.
  10. Conducting appraisals, supporting professional development, and monitoring objectives and progress.
  11. Engaging in performance management processes and advising on company policies.
  12. Creating a positive team atmosphere, leading by example, and fostering good relations with clients and staff.
  13. Helping team members develop professionally and personally through mentorship and technical guidance.
