The Role
They are currently looking for a Leader in their Civil Engineering Team at their head office in Manchester City Centre.
The role involves the design of highways and drainage, with a greater emphasis on drainage design, which constitutes a larger part of their daily work. They offer extensive benefits including:

Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Supervising multiple projects, ensuring compliance with standards, timely delivery of information, and quality assurance.
- Resource planning for the team across all projects and assessing additional resource needs.
- Leading and ensuring team efficiency and effectiveness.
- Supporting other teams with resource allocation, re-planning tasks as necessary.
- Participating in resource meetings and contributing positively.
- Understanding project fees, drawdowns, and assisting with service negotiations and design responsibilities.
- Reviewing and approving team’s timesheets weekly and monthly.
- Managing holiday requests to avoid resource bottlenecks and ensuring proper planning.
- Holding regular team meetings, ensuring effective communication, and briefing on tasks with appropriate skills, training, and tools.
- Conducting appraisals, supporting professional development, and monitoring objectives and progress.
- Engaging in performance management processes and advising on company policies.
- Creating a positive team atmosphere, leading by example, and fostering good relations with clients and staff.
- Helping team members develop professionally and personally through mentorship and technical guidance.

Essential Requirements
- Proven experience leading a civil engineering team.
- IT literacy with experience in Micro drainage, Civils 3D, and AutoCAD.
- Technical competence with understanding of drainage and highway design and associated construction details.
