Job summary

The University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust seeks an Associate Chief Pharmacist to join the senior Pharmacy Leadership Team. You will lead strategy and operations across clinical, operational and specialist pharmacy with a focus on transformation, workforce development and cost improvement.

Qualifications

• Degree in pharmacy (BPharm, MPharm or BSc Pharmacy) or equivalent
• Postgraduate diploma in a relevant pharmacy discipline or equivalent experience
• Specialist higher degree or portfolio of senior managerial experience
• GPhC registration

Responsibilities

• Provide visible leadership for a large multi-disciplinary pharmacy workforce and contribute to the department's strategic direction
• Lead the development, delivery and implementation of pharmacy strategies and transformation programmes aligned to Trust and system priorities
• Lead complex programmes of work, develop business cases and contribute to financial planning
• Support safe, effective and cost-efficient delivery of clinical, operational and specialist pharmacy services
• Lead service redesign, workforce development and innovation to improve patient care and productivity
• Provide professional leadership on cost improvement and expert advice to senior clinicians, executives and external stakeholders
• Represent the Trust at local, regional and national forums and deputise for the Chief Pharmacist
• Ensure services meet professional, regulatory and governance standards and foster continuous improvement
• Provide professional leadership to senior pharmacy staff and support succession planning and future leaders
• Provide senior leaders with assurance on service quality, governance, operational performance and regulatory compliance
