Responsibilities

The Business Systems Analyst (Associate) is responsible for supporting the development of software solutions and systems enhancements through the collection, documentation, analysis, and translation of user requirements into technical specifications, supporting project teams in testing and validating project deliverables meet business objectives.

  • Requirements Gathering: Collect and document business and system requirements. Translate business requirements and user needs into Jira stories. Perform tasks in accordance with iPipeline Agile practices; identify and analyze scope change.
  • Process Mapping: Understand and assist in the creation and updating of process maps and flowcharts to visualize current and future business processes and system configurations.
  • Business Processes: Document and support the analysis of current business processes, consistently adhere to the standard quality process of the SDLC, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Data Analysis: Support data analysis efforts by gathering and organizing relevant data and documenting in applicable format. Perform basic SQL queries to gather the required information, demonstrating a basic understanding of the database structure.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Participate in meetings with stakeholders to understand their needs and communicate requirements.
  • Solution Configuration: Support the implementation of items, making basic configuration updates as per the technical design specification.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams with system testing and validation. Participate in meetings to clarify requirements, create design approaches, and answer questions from the development team. Review and approve Master Test Plans.
  • Troubleshooting: Provide support in troubleshooting system issues. Independently diagnose basic issues and, with guidance, investigate slightly more complex issues to increase exposure in scope.
  • System Specifications: Create system specifications with support and work closely with development teams to ensure alignment with business needs.
  • All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Learning and on-the- job experience to develop core and job competencies.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Basic understanding of business analysis principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic Business Analysis and Configuration Tools: Familiarity with standard tools for requirements gathering and documentation (e.g., Jira, Microsoft Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint). Undertake basic configuration activities (e.g., RMT/Workbenches). Understand database structures and write basic queries (SQL).
  • Fundamental Data Analysis: Ability to perform basic data analysis using SQL, spreadsheets, forms, or simple analytical tools.
  • Introduction to Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC): Familiarity with system development life cycle concepts and basic understanding of Agile.
  • Documentation Skills: Ability to create simple documentation such as specifications, meeting notes, requirement lists, release notes, and process diagrams.
  • Business Process Modeling: Basic understanding of business process modeling techniques.
  • Analytical Thinking: Basic analytical skills to identify trends and patterns in data.
  • Problem Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skill
