Job summary

Qualifications

  • BSc (Hons) in Building Surveying or an RICS accredited degree.
  • MRICS Chartered status.
  • Extensive Building Surveying experience in a consultancy environment.
  • Strong knowledge of contract administration and professional Building Surveying services.
  • Experience managing projects, clients and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commercial awareness with ability to identify new business opportunities.
  • Experience mentoring graduates and APC candidates.
  • Excellent technical report writing and specification preparation.
  • Understanding of Building Regulations, Health & Safety legislation and compliance.
  • Outstanding organisational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Associate Building Surveyor Glasgow Salary up to 65k Are you an experienced senior-level Chartered Building Surveyor ready to take the next step into an Associate-level position? We're partnering with a leading multidisciplinary consultancy that's continuing to grow its Building Surveying team in Glasgow and is looking for an ambitious individual who enjoys leading projects, developing people, and building lasting client relationships.

The Opportunity

As an Associate Building Surveyor, you'll take ownership of a varied project portfolio while helping to shape the future of the team. You'll lead multidisciplinary project delivery, manage key client relationships and support the continued growth of the business through mentoring, business development and technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities of the Associate Building Surveyor:
  • Lead refurbishment, improvement and modernisation projects across a range of sectors.
  • Carry out feasibility studies, prepare specifications and manage projects from inception through to completion.
  • Administer contracts using JCT and NEC forms of contract.
  • Deliver a broad range of professional Building Surveying services including inspections, surveys, schedules and technical reporting.
  • Manage client relationships and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
  • Mentor and support junior surveyors, including acting as an APC Supervisor for colleagues working towards Chartership.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and line management to members of the Building Surveying team.
  • Support business development activities, prepare fee proposals and contribute to successful bid submissions.
  • Promote best practice in health & safety, statutory compliance and environmental standards across all projects.
About You
  • BSc (Hons) in Building Surveying or another RICS accredited degree.
  • MRICS Chartered status.
  • Extensive Building Surveying experience gained within a consultancy environment.
  • Strong knowledge of contract administration and professional Building Surveying services.
  • Experience managing projects, clients and multidisciplinary teams.

  • Previous experience mentoring graduates and supporting APC candidates.
  • Excellent technical report writing and specification preparation skills.
  • A thorough understanding of current Building Regulations, Health & Safety legislation and statutory compliance.
  • Outstanding organisational and communication skills with a proactive approach to project delivery.
