Job summary

Aldwych Consulting is seeking an Associate Building Surveyor in Glasgow to lead a varied project portfolio, manage client relationships and mentor junior staff. You will deliver refurbishment and modernisation projects, supervise multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to business development.

The role requires MRICS Chartered status, a strong Building Surveying background in consultancy, and excellent technical reporting and contract administration skills. UK work eligibility is essential.

Qualifications

• BSc (Hons) in Building Surveying or an equivalent RICS accredited degree.
• MRICS Chartered status is essential.
• Extensive Building Surveying experience in a consultancy environment.
• Strong contract administration and professional Building Surveying services knowledge.
• Experience managing projects, clients and multidisciplinary teams.
• Commercial awareness with ability to identify and develop new business opportunities.
• Experience mentoring graduates and APC candidates.
• Excellent technical report writing and specification preparation skills.
• Strong understanding of Building Regulations, Health & Safety legislation and compliance.
• Outstanding organisational and communication skills with a proactive delivery approach.

Responsibilities

• Lead refurbishment, improvement and modernisation projects across multiple sectors.
• Carry out feasibility studies, prepare specifications and manage projects from inception to completion.
• Administer contracts using JCT and NEC forms of contract.
• Deliver a broad range of professional Building Surveying services including inspections and reports.
• Manage client relationships and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to high standards.
• Mentor junior surveyors and support APC candidates.
