We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Underwriter to join our Property and Casualty team in our Leeds office The successful candidate will support the underwriting process, assist in managing client relationships, and contribute to the growth and profitability of our portfolio.

How you'll make an impact
  • Assist underwriters in the evaluation and analysis of new and renewal business within the property and casualty sector.
  • Prepare and process underwriting documentation, including policy endorsements, quotes, and binders.
  • Conduct research and gather information to support underwriting decisions.
  • Collaborate with brokers and clients to ensure clear communication and understanding of coverage terms and conditions.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records of underwriting activities and transactions.
  • Support the development and implementation of underwriting strategies to achieve business objectives.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on market trends and opportunities.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
About you
  • Previous experience in insurance underwriting or a related role is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
