Job summary

Penguin Recruitment Ltd. seeks an Assistant Town Planner in Bristol to join a leading multidisciplinary property consultancy. The role offers hands-on experience across planning projects and opportunities to progress within the profession.

You will prepare and submit planning applications, liaise with clients and officers, and build knowledge of the UK planning system while developing your career towards MRTPI status.

Qualifications

• Degree or postgraduate qualification in Town Planning or a related subject.
• MRTPI qualified or close to.
• Some relevant planning experience is desirable, although strong graduates will also be considered.
• Good understanding of the UK planning system.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Organised, proactive and commercially aware.
• Keen to develop your career within planning and work towards professional accreditation.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and coordinating planning applications.
• Supporting pre-application submissions and planning advice.
• Undertaking planning research and appraisals.
• Liaising with clients, planning officers, consultants and other stakeholders.
• Attending site visits and project meetings.
• Supporting senior colleagues across a varied project portfolio.
