Job Description:

Job purpose:

To provide professional leadership and support to a team of qualified and unqualified staff within a multidisciplinary team whilst ensuring practice standards remain high and that services are delivered appropriately to adults, including those with complex needs and those where statutory intervention is required.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • To provide supervision for the Social Workers in the Locality Team.
  • To act as ‘duty’ manager, ensuring work is allocated according to assessed need, departmental policy, and staff skills and expertise.
  • To manage a caseload of high complexity, providing case management, guidance, support, and expert advice to social care staff, students, and partner agencies.
  • To share support plans and care package information with service users, carers, and relevant agencies, respecting confidentiality policies.
  • To manage budgets delegated by the Team Manager.
  • To contribute to service development, good practice, and departmental policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy, registered with the HCPC.
  • At least 2 years of management and supervisory experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of Occupational Therapy experience within a Local Authority, including major adaptations and manual handling.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and safeguarding principles.
  • Experience in holistic assessments for services, including equipment recommendations, adaptations, risk assessments, mobility assessments, and re-housing support.
  • Enhanced DBS within the last 12 months or willingness to obtain one.
