Wates is seeking an Assistant Surveyor to join their WPS team in Swadlincote. This role offers hybrid working and involves producing commercial reports, conducting on-site measurements, and ensuring timely contractual processes. Ideal candidates will have a strong work ethic, adaptability, and ideally a degree in surveying.

Here at Wates, we have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Surveyor to join our WPS team within the responsive maintenance division, working on social housing contracts in the Derby area. You will be working alongside an existing team of surveyors, providing plenty of opportunities to learn and grow.
We are pleased to offer hybrid working for this role; however, since the office is in Swadlincote, you will need to be within commuting distance to the site.
A candidate with a good work ethic, the ability to work under a Project Surveyor, and within a team of surveyors of different experience levels.
You should ideally be degree qualified in surveying (but this is not essential). More importantly, we are seeking someone willing to learn, adaptable, and with the right attitude to succeed.
Due to the nature of this position, you will need to undergo a Basic Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check at the offer stage. Applicants with criminal convictions will be assessed individually.
