Are you passionate about helping others live their best lives? We're excited to offer full-time opportunities (37.5 hours per week) for Assistant Support Workers at our vibrant supported living service in Hemel Hempstead .

At Lord Alexander House , you'll be part of a warm, dedicated team that empowers individuals with mental health needs to live independently in their own purpose-built flats. Located in the heart of town, close to shops and local amenities, our service offers 24-hour outreach and emergency phone support - ensuring tenants always feel safe and supported.

As an Assistant Support Worker you will;

• Provide appropriate support to service users who are living in their own homes or in a supported housing setting to enable them to support their aspirations and maximise their independence.
• You will not be providing personal care but your role will involve promoting life skills such as shopping, managing budgets and supporting with domestic tasks such as cooking and cleaning.
• Build long lasting support relationships with people who will benefit from you "being the difference".
• Follow agreed support plans and risk assessments to ensure that we are providing a service that meets each individual's needs.
• Need to have a full UK drivers licence.
• Use of a car for work purposes during shift.

You don't need previous experience in the care sector to thrive with us. We offer a structured induction , comprehensive training , and ongoing on-the-job support to help you succeed and grow in your role. You'll also have the chance to gain an accredited vocational qualification , opening doors to further opportunities within Hightown's wider care and support network.

We're looking for compassionate, proactive individuals who genuinely care about others and bring a common-sense, can-do attitude to everything they do. If you're driven by the desire to make a real difference in people's lives, we want to hear from you. You'll need to be able to understand and respond to the needs and wishes of vulnerable adults , using a variety of communication methods tailored to everyone.

Additionally, You Will Also Be Able To

• Work shifts as part of a rota system which will include weekend and bank holiday working
• Perform at least one sleep in per week as part of your shift (allowance of £51.78 paid)
• Work as part of a team to deliver an excellent service to the people we support
• Be flexible in your approach to work and demonstrate resilience in a challenging, but rewarding environment
• Have a commitment to equality and diversity and take a positive approach to supporting people with mental disabilities
  
  

It is essential that you hold a full UK driving licence and are happy to do sleep-ins (minimum one per week) .

Hightown Benefits

• Generous annual leave allowance of 33 days per year, including statutory bank holidays, rising to 35 days with service
• £23,868 pa for a 37.5 hour a week contract (£12.24 per hour)
• We make sleep in payments of at least £51.78 (in addition to your basic pay)
• Workplace pension scheme and life assurance of three times your annual salary
• Mileage paid for car usage
• Fully paid DBS
• Annual bonus based on satisfactory performance
