Support Worker (Assistant Resident Coach)
Salary: GBP23,000 - GBP26,000 - dependent on experience
Permanent, Full-time
37 hours a week including approximately 1 in 4 weekends.
Mixed Shift Patterns: 7am-3pm, 11am-7pm, 9.30am-5.30pm
Full clean driving licence and access to your own vehicle for work purposes required.
Our client is a not-for-profit housing association located in Luton. We are looking for an experienced Support Worker to join a growing company.
Purpose: Support Worker
As an Assistant Resident Coach, you will be the primary supporter for residents, working with the Resident Coaches to deliver the best possible outcomes. You will utilize psychologically informed approaches to provide a flexible and adaptive service tailored to residents' changing needs.
Responsibilities: Support Worker
- Deliver comprehensive support services to residents.
- Work in a psychologically informed way, coaching residents in a person-centred manner.
- Collaborate with the Resident Coaching Team to ensure consistent, positive interactions and appropriate behaviour.
- Conduct holistic assessments of new residents, develop support and risk management plans.
- Record daily interactions and updates in the internal system.
- Liaise with professionals such as social workers, solicitors, translators, police, and education providers as needed.
- Conduct daily coaching sessions and manage your own caseload.
- Organize and attend meetings, make referrals, and provide person-centred support.
- Think creatively to deliver effective support solutions.
- Assist residents with benefit claims and personal contribution charges.
- Support residents in learning independent living skills for successful move-on.
- Participate in reflective practice sessions regarding residents with complex needs.
- Recognize challenging situations and use appropriate skills to support positive behavioural change.
- Ensure residents are informed of their rights and participate in service improvements.
- Attend networking and partnership meetings with external organizations.
- Follow all policies and procedures, including Health and Safety, Fairness, Lone Working, SOVA, and Child Protection.
- Undertake DBS checks every 3 years and inform your manager of any changes.
