Warrens Bakery Limited invites applications for an Assistant Store Manager at our new Shell Co-op store in Glastonbury. The role is permanent and part-time, with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week.

Start date is approximately 24 November 2026, with initial training at our Cullompton store. Salary is £13.02 per hour, plus benefits including career progression, staff discount, free hot drinks on shift, and ongoing training.

• Reliable travel to the store for shifts starting from 5:30am and flexible across the store’s hours, including weekends and bank holidays.

• Grow sales through effective display, merchandising, and stock management.
• Assist the manager in motivating and training the team and oversee daily store operations.
• Manage hiring, scheduling, and task allocation for the team.

As the oldest Cornish pasty maker in the world, we pride ourselves on delivering delicious baked goods and brilliant customer service. We are now recruiting for an enthusiastic and experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our team as we launch an exciting new location in SHELL CO-OP in Glastonbury.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in a new operation from day one, helping to build a successful team, establish a strong presence in the local community, and deliver an exceptional experience for every customer who visits. As Assistant Store Manager, you’ll work closely with the Store Manager to support the day-to-day running of the store and help create a positive, customer-focused culture.

The successful candidate will be guaranteed a minimum of 30 hours per week. The anticipated start date for this role is approximately 24 November 2026, although this may be subject to change. Your first week will be spent training at our Cullompton store, giving you the knowledge, skills, and support needed to succeed in the role.

Responsibilities:

• Exemplify brilliant customer service and maintain our high standards in health, safety, and food hygiene.
• Develop sales by display and merchandising of stock, customer care, correct ordering of stock and efficient use of well-trained staff.
• Assist the manager in motivating and training the team to ensure our high standards are maintained at all times and oversee daily store operations.
• Manage hiring, performance, scheduling, and task assignment for the team.
• Conduct regular audits to ensure functionality and presentation of the store.

Requirements:

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
• A love of coffee and an appreciation for creating great customer experience
• Comfortable working independently, including periods of lone working, whilst remaining part of a wider retail team environment.
• Able to reliably travel to the store for shifts starting from 5:30am and flexible to work across the store’s trading hours, including weekends and bank holidays where required.
• Due to the tasks involved within this role, you must be 18 or over.
