Job summary

Farmfoods is hiring an Assistant Manager for our Grantham shop. The role is a permanent full-time position on a 43-hour contract, with shifts across five days per week, including at least one weekend shift. Salary range £31,449.60–£35,306.88 per year, plus benefits and a staff discount.

You will work with the shop manager to run an efficient store, develop a small team, and ensure exceptional customer service while monitoring costs and operations. DBS checks apply for hire.

Qualifications

• Friendly, positive, hardworking approach to work.
• People person with ability to build strong working relationships.
• Trustworthy and reliable in a small team.
• Some experience as a manager, team leader or supervisor.
• Must complete Basic DBS check (England/Wales) or Disclosure Scotland if hired.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the shop manager to run an efficient shop and provide great service to customers.
• Develop your team through coaching, mentoring and feedback.
• Be accountable for the shop in the absence of the shop manager and ensure customers are looked after, deliveries are processed, and shop routines are completed.
• Motivate and guide your team to control costs including shrinkage, waste and payroll.
• Support recruitment and induction of new team members.
