Job summary

Dr. Martens Exeter is seeking an engaging Assistant Store Manager to lead our diverse team and deliver outstanding service.

You will work alongside the Store Manager, coaching the team, ensuring stock, visual merchandising, and health and safety standards meet our brand expectations. The role requires experience in fashion retail, coaching skills, a sales-focused mindset, strong English, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and POS systems.

Qualifications

• Experience as Assistant Store Manager or Supervisor in fashion/lifestyle brands.
• Confident in coaching, developing and mentoring teams.
• Sales oriented and able to drive store goals and objectives.
• Fluency in English at business level; additional languages a plus.
• Good IT skills – proficient with Microsoft Office and POS systems.

Responsibilities

• Take day-to-day retail operations in line with company expectations (coaching, sales analysis, visual merchandising and administration).
• Cover store manager duties in their absence and ensure health & safety standards.
• Achieve set KPIs (sales, CR, UPT) in line with the store P&L budget.
• Lead and maintain high standards of customer experience and product knowledge.
• Manage stock processes including stock takes, deliveries, and loss prevention.

SO WHATS THE STORY - Assistant Store Manager - Exeter

We are looking for an engaging, inspirational Assistant Store Manager to help lead the diverse team at our Exeter store.

Our Assistant Store Manager will work in hand in hand with our Store Manager creating a strong partnership to provide leadership and direction, guiding their team to provide an outstanding service offer that supports the delivery and growth of Dr. Martens. While also focusing on your own development, you will be a driving force in cultivating a great working environment within your store always ensuring your teams well-being is at the heart of your decision making.

Assistant Store Manager - Exeter

• Take responsibility of day-to-day retail operations to company expectations (Coaching, sales analysis, visual merchandising and administration)
• Assume complete responsibility of the store & team in absence of the Store Manager
• Take responsibility for health & safety and security issues within the store
• Achieve set KPI’s (i.e. Sales/CR/UPT) in line with the store P&L budget
• Leading and implementing high standards of customer experience and product knowledge within the team through a coaching approach to create a seamless and consistent customer experience.
• Ensuring appropriate stock management procedures are followed including stock take, process deliveries, loss prevention actions etc.
• Work closely with your Store Manager, Regional Manager and Head Office functions to take commercial decisions for your store in line with our business objectives.

To be our Assistant Store Manager you should have/or be;

• Passion for our product.
• Similar experience in an Assistant Store Manager or Supervisor role, ideally within a fashion/lifestyle brand, for a few years.
• Confident in coaching, developing and mentoring teams.
• Sales oriented and able to drive others to achieve store goals and objectives.
• Demonstrates resilience, together with a solution driven mindset.
• Fluency in English at a business level. Additional languages would be a benefit.
• Good IT skills – confident to use Microsoft Office and POS systems.
