Role overview:
We are seeking a skilled Assistant Manager with strong leadership & communication abilities to guide their team towards achieving sales & KPI targets whilst providing excellent service.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting the Store Manager in running all store operations to meet or exceed sales & KPI targets. Setting sales goals, tracking performance, and evolving processes for store growth.
- Creating a positive team culture through recruiting, training, and developing staff. Building a motivated, high-performing team for store success.
- Analyzing sales data and financial reports to make quick, informed decisions with the Store Manager, identifying opportunities operationally & commercially.
- Acting as the point of contact in the manager’s absence.
- Providing excellent customer service, addressing inquiries, and resolving complaints professionally.
- Managing day-to-day operations, including opening and closing procedures.
- Supporting cash management tasks such as transactions and till reconciliation.
- Participating in hiring, onboarding, and training new employees.
- Providing feedback and coaching to improve colleague performance.
- Supporting the Store Manager in maintaining colleague schedules for proper coverage and productivity.
Role objectives and KPIs:
- Contributing to achieving or exceeding the store's monthly sales target.
- Driving additional KPIs including Units, Conversion, ATV, UPT.
- Achieving upselling or cross-selling targets.
- Maintaining a high Net Promoter Score.
- Ensuring stock accuracy during store audits.
- Ensuring all new colleagues complete mandatory training.
- Ensuring employee satisfaction or engagement survey results meet or exceed company benchmarks.
- Assisting in keeping operational costs within budget.
Skills and Experience:
- Previous supervisory or management experience in a fast-paced retail/customer-facing environment.
- Passionate about retail with a good understanding of latest trends and competitors.
- Experience in coaching and developing individuals.
- Strong communication skills.
- Proven track record of achieving/exceeding sales targets and KPIs.
- Experience analyzing KPI data for commercial decisions.
- Keen eye for detail & commerciality; visual merchandising experience is advantageous.
- Ability to promote JD Group values internally and externally.
