Job summary

Dynamite-Recruitment-Solutions is recruiting an Assistant Store Manager for a thriving independent retailer in Alresford, Hampshire. You will support the Store Manager, lead the team, and ensure outstanding service across a large shop floor.

Hours: Tuesday to Saturday, 8:45am - 5:15pm (42.5 hours per week). Salary: Up to £35,000 DOE, with 28 days annual leave, 30% in-store discount, free on-site parking and paid lunch breaks.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years’ experience in a retail supervisor or Assistant Manager role.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Physically fit and happy to spend the day on their feet in a large retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the Store Manager with the smooth day-to-day running of the store.
• Leading, motivating and developing the retail team.
• Delivering exceptional customer service and confidently resolving customer queries.
• Opening and closing the store, including cash handling and till procedures.
• Maintaining high visual merchandising and presentation standards.
• Supporting stock replenishment and ensuring products are accurately displayed and priced.
• Assisting with staff training, rotas and operational planning.
• Ensuring health & safety standards are maintained across the store.

We’re recruiting for an enthusiastic and hands-on Assistant Store Manager to join a thriving independent retail destination. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a beautiful retail environment where customer experience is at the heart of everything you do.

Working closely with the Store Manager, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day operation of a large retail space, leading by example, supporting the team and ensuring every customer receives outstanding service.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Has at least 2-3 years’ experience in a retail supervisor or Assistant Manager role.
• Loves delivering outstanding customer service.
• Is confident leading a team and supporting colleagues.
• Has excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Enjoys being on the shop floor and leading by example.
• Is physically fit and happy to spend the day on their feet in a large retail environment, with regular trips to the downstairs stockroom.
• Thrives in a busy environment and can confidently deal with a wide range of customers, always remaining professional and courteous.
