Role overview:
We are seeking a skilled Assistant Manager with strong leadership & communication abilities to guide their team towards achieving sales & KPI targets whilst providing unparalleled service.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting the Store Manager in effectively running all store operations to ensure meeting or exceeding sales & KPI targets. Setting clear sales goals, tracking performances, and evolving processes to ensure continuous store growth.
- Creating a positive team culture through recruiting, training, & continuously developing your staff. Building a motivated and high-performing team to increase store success.
- Analyzing sales data and financial reports to make quick, well-informed decisions alongside the Store Manager, identifying and responding to operational & commercial opportunities.
- Acting as the point of contact for colleagues in the manager's absence.
- Providing excellent customer service, addressing inquiries, and resolving complaints professionally.
- Helping manage day-to-day operations, including opening and closing procedures.
- Supporting cash management tasks, such as processing transactions and reconciling tills.
- Participating in hiring, onboarding, and training new employees.
- Providing feedback and coaching to colleagues to improve performance.
- Supporting the Store Manager in maintaining colleague schedules to ensure proper coverage and productivity.
Role objectives and KPIs:
- Contributing to achieving or exceeding the store's monthly sales targets.
- Driving all additional KPIs, including but not limited to Units, Conversion, ATV, UPT.
- Achieving upselling or cross-selling targets.
- Maintaining a high Net Promoter Score.
- Ensuring stock accuracy during store audits.
- Ensuring all new colleagues complete mandatory training.
- Ensuring employee satisfaction scores or engagement survey results meet or exceed company benchmarks.
- Assisting in keeping operational costs within the allocated budget.
Skills and Experience :
- Previous supervisory or management experience in a fast-paced retail/customer-facing environment.
- Passionate about retail & knowledgeable about the latest trends and competitors.
- Experience in coaching and developing individuals.
- Strong communication skills.
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets and KPIs.
- Experience in analyzing KPI data to make commercial decisions.
- Keen eye for detail & commerciality; experience in visual merchandising is advantageous.
- Ability to promote JD Group values to internal and external stakeholders.
