Assistant Site Operations Manager

Working alongside the leadership for the site, you’ll directly assist the Site Operations Manager (SOM) and drive profitable sales through operational excellence and delivery of the Welcome Break goals.

This role is a developmental position for managers working towards a Site Manager or Site Operations Manager position.

Responsibilities of the role:

• Specific unit accountabilities and direct line reporting, this may be 50% of the site’s units, two catering businesses, two retail businesses or one side of the motorway.
• Deputise and lead the business in the absence of the SOM.
• Ensure the site delivers excellent customer service and maximises unit sales.
• Ensure site cleanliness and safety complying with Food Safety and Health and Safety regulations.
• Effective management, including communication and training of the team.
• Effective compliance with operational / finance procedures and controls, such as stock counts are completed, wastage and gap are controlled and cash procedures are adhered to.
• Team performance, succession, and development of managers at all levels.
• Manage and motivate team, including monthly continuous performance, setting business objectives and goals and completing mid-year and end-of-year reviews.
• Effective use of Welcome Break recognition.
• Security of company assets.

Ideally, you will have experience in:

• Delivering Service and Operational Excellence in a high-volume sales unit as a previous Unit/Hotel/Restaurant manager or a multi-unit manager
• Achieving strong financial results and an understanding of cash flows and profit margins
• A variety of brands and an understanding of the they bring
• Leading and motivating a team of Managers as well as Team Members
