Job summary

Gilbert & Goode in Cornwall seeks an enthusiastic Assistant Site Manager to support the delivery of residential developments. Working with our Site Managers and Construction team, you’ll help ensure sites are safe, well organised and delivering high-quality homes for our customers.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a construction-related discipline.
• Site Manager Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS).
• CSCS Card.
• First Aid qualification.
• Experience working at site supervisory level.
• Construction industry experience.
• Knowledge of safe systems of work.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to travel to various site locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, coordination and supervision of site operations.
• Support management of subcontractors, direct labour and suppliers.
• Monitor progress against construction programmes and report on performance.
• Carry out quality inspections and ensure works meet specifications.
• Promote and maintain health, safety and environmental standards.
• Coordinate inspections with Building Control and warranty providers.
• Manage site records, audits and compliance documentation.
• Support stakeholder, customer and community engagement.
• Assist with defect management and quality sign-off processes.
• Champion a positive site culture focused on teamwork and continuous improvement.
