Job summary

Thorn Baker Recruitment Ltd in Leicester is seeking an Assistant Site Manager to support the Site Manager on a live Leicester project. You will oversee plots from second fix through to handover, ensure quality standards, manage progress against programme, and supervise subcontractors on site.

You will maintain health and safety compliance, coordinate inspections, and keep records of progress, labour and materials.

Qualifications

• SMSTS certificate is required.
• CSCS card is required.
• Current First Aid at Work qualification is required.
• Full UK driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and organising daily site activities to ensure timely completion from second fix to final handover.
• Supervise subcontractors and labour teams to maintain quality, productivity, and safety standards.
• Conduct quality inspections and snagging to identify and resolve defects prior to handover.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety policies, including risk assessments and method statements.
• Maintain accurate records of site progress, labour, materials, and issues arising.
• Support the Site Manager in liaising with clients, suppliers and external stakeholders as required.
• Assist in coordinating inspections and approvals with building control and regulatory bodies.
• Promote a positive working environment and effective communication across site teams.
