Job summary

First Recruitment Group is seeking an Assistant Site Manager for a permanent role in Peterborough. You will lead site teams and subcontractors, coordinate activities, and support development toward a Site Manager position. Deputising for the Site Manager when required is part of the role.

Requirements include SMSTS, CSCS, health and safety/First Aid qualifications, and a valid UK driving licence. Hybrid working is available depending on the site and project needs.

Qualifications

• SMSTS qualification.
• CSCS card.
• Health & Safety and/or First Aid at Work qualifications.
• Programme and resource management experience.
• Excellent organisational skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Valid UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Support Site Managers and teams in achieving objectives.
• Assist with planning and delivery of construction activities.
• Coordinate labour, plant, materials, and subcontractors for efficient execution.
• Assist in the management and coordination of site resources.
• Promote a positive, collaborative, high‑performing culture on site.
• Develop strong working relationships with project teams and stakeholders.
• Encourage collaboration, inclusion and diverse perspectives across site operations.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence.
• Deputise for the Site Manager when required.
