Job description

Fawkes and Reece are working with a reputable Housebuilder to recruit an experienced Assistant Site Manager to support on a 60-unit traditional residential development in Preston on a long term basis

You will be working as a key part of the site management team, assisting with the day-to-day delivery of a high-quality, bespoke 60-unit residential development. You will be required to ensure plots progress within the agreed programme, safely and efficiently, while maintaining a consistently high standard of workmanship, quality and specification.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a strong management team working with a reputable contractor on a more bespoke development. The project will offer a more hands-on role, with greater involvement across individual plots and the opportunity to take ownership of the quality and progression of the development. Prior experience working on traditional build housing developments is crucial to perform well within this role.

Main Duties
  • Assisting the Site Manager with the day-to-day management and coordination of the development, monitoring progress across multiple plots and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required standard.
  • You will coordinate and supervise subcontractors and site operatives, ensuring labour, materials and plant are available when required to maintain the smooth running and progression of the development.
  • Due to the bespoke nature of the scheme, you will be expected to take a proactive and hands-on approach, working closely with the Site Manager and wider management team to ensure each plot is progressing in line with programme requirements and the high-quality standards expected.
  • You must be confident carrying out regular site inspections, monitoring workmanship and ensuring all works are completed to a high standard for the customer. You will also be responsible for ensuring health and safety requirements are adhered to at all times, alongside completing relevant site paperwork, reports and inspections.
  • The right candidate will require strong traditional build experience, with a good understanding of the various stages of residential construction. You will need to be able to identify potential issues early, work collaboratively with subcontractors and the site management team, and find effective solutions to prevent delays and keep the development on programme.
  • This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Assistant Site Manager who enjoys working on a smaller, more bespoke development where attention to detail, quality and ownership are key.
