Job summary

Philip Morant School and College is seeking an Assistant SENDCo to join our strong SEN team and contribute to an ongoing improvement journey within a large Colchester campus. The role offers term-time plus non-pupil days and a 37-hour week, Monday to Thursday, with Friday shorter hours.

The successful candidate will support EHCPs, One Plans, and interventions, and work closely with external agencies as needed.

Qualifications

• Good organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience of and a passion for supporting students with SEND needs within school.
• Ability to use initiative and work without direct supervision, taking responsibility for tasks.
• The ability to prioritise tasks to support the progress and wellbeing of all learners.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to One Plan Review meetings and EHCP annual reviews.
• Correspond with external agencies, parents and staff as necessary.
• Mentor SEND students and coordinate interventions such as ELSA, Forest School and autistic support.
• Interact with and support students according to individual educational needs.
