Wirral School at St John Plessington Catholic College is seeking two Assistant SENDCOs to join our inclusion team. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced professionals who are passionate about removing barriers to learning and improving outcomes for students with special educational needs and disabilities.

The role involves working with the SENDCO to identify student needs, plan targeted support, and maintain accurate SEND records.

Formación

• Have experience of supporting students with SEND and a range of learning, social, emotional and behavioural needs.
• Hold a Level 4 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent, alongside relevant SEND qualifications or accredited training.
• Understand the SEND Code of Practice and EHCP assessment, planning and review processes.
• Can identify barriers to learning, support targeted interventions and use evidence to evaluate progress.
• Have strong organisational and IT skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records and manage competing priorities.
• Communicate clearly and build positive relationships with students, families, colleagues and external agencies.
• Are calm, compassionate and committed to safeguarding, confidentiality and inclusive practice.

Responsabilidades

• Working with SENDCO to identify students' needs, plan and deliver targeted support.
• Maintain SEND records, contribute to EHCP assessments and reviews, prepare provision maps and gather evidence for examination access arrangements.
• Support enhanced transition and collaborate with families, teachers, pastoral teams and external professionals.
• Line-management responsibility for Level 2 and Level 3 Learning Assistants, coordinating support across the school.
