Job summary

Plymstock School is seeking an experienced Assistant SENDCo to join our Inclusion Team and coordinate the Alternative Provision Base. The role involves close collaboration with the SENDCo to support pupils' progress and to liaise with external professionals and agencies as appropriate.

The successful candidate will be experienced in working with children, skilled in managing a range of behaviours, and capable of building strong relationships with staff, parents and young people.

Qualifications

• Significant experience of working with children.
• Experience of dealing with a range of student behaviours.
• Ability to develop and maintain good relationships with staff, parents, external agencies and be able to gain the confidence of young people.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils' progress and achievement and liaise with external professionals and agencies as appropriate.
• Work with the Inclusion Team to coordinate the running of the Alternative Provision Base.
• Assist the SENDCo to support pupils and contribute to safeguarding and inclusion initiatives.
