Job summary

The Ivy Collection in the United Kingdom is seeking an Assistant Reception Manager to lead a vibrant front-of-house team during peak service periods, ensuring exceptional guest experiences. This role offers competitive pay and strong development opportunities within a beloved restaurant brand.

You will support staff training, uphold service standards, and supervise reception colleagues to maintain excellence in guest care and operations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in this position.
• Solution-driven individual able to work under the pressure of peak service.
• Excellent English language skills and strong guest-service focus.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Reception Manager in building an efficient department with staff welfare, safety and development in mind.
• Assist the reception team with ongoing service standards training and product knowledge.
• Supervise other receptionists to maintain correct standards and methods of service.
• Strictly adhere to the department budget and ensure costs are controlled and approved.
• Attend training and meetings as required by the Reception Manager.
• Lead regular departmental communications meetings.
• Manage the reception desk and flow of service in the Manager's absence.

Key elements of your role as Assistant Reception Manager:

• To assist the Reception Manager in the building of an efficient department, by taking an active interest in the employees’ welfare, safety and development.
• To assist the reception team in providing all staff with on-going service standards training and food and beverage product knowledge.
• To supervise other receptionists, ensuring that the correct standards and methods of service are maintained.
• To strictly adhere to the department’s operational budget and ensure that all costs are controlled and expenditure approved.
• To attend training and meetings as required by the Reception Manager.
• To conduct and contribute to regular departmental communications meetings.
• Manage the reception desk and the flow of service into the restaurant in the Managers absence
