Job summary

VINCI is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor to join their team either at the Risley or Milton offices. This role will focus on commercial and contract management across projects, emphasizing relationship building with clients and achieving successful outcomes.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in quantity surveying in the engineering or construction industry.
• Experience of using the NEC suite of contracts (particularly Options C & E).
• Demonstrable experience of performing Quantity Surveying duties.

Responsibilities

• Provide commercial support for project cash flow and budget.
• Manage contractual terms & conditions with clients and supply chain.
• Prepare internal cost/commercial reports, including margin forecasting.

Job Title: Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor (DOE)

Location: Risley or Milton

Salary: £35,000 - £50,000

Purpose of the job

We are seeking an ambitious Quantity Surveying professional to join our team based either out of our Risley or Milton offices. The role will be responsible for supporting the commercial and contract management of our projects, from inception to final account. You will work closely with project teams and support functions, and build good relationships with our clients and supply chain. Your enthusiastic and professional approach will be key to successful project commercial outcomes.

Reports to

Senior Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager

Key Accountabilities

Provide Commercial Support For The Following Aspects For Projects That Operate On a Lump Sum, Remeasurable, Target Cost, Or Reimbursable Basis

Project cash flow and budget

Contractual terms & conditions (both client and supply chain)

Interim applications in accordance with contract procedures

Change management, in accordance with contract procedures

Negotiation of contract amendments, including review of terms & conditions

Subcontract account management, including review of interim applications, preparation of payment certificates, management and assessment of potential changes, and final accounting upon completion

Preparation of internal cost / commercial reports, including accurate margin forecasting

Compliance with all relevant Health & Safety regulations

Qualifications And Experience

Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or in related subject (candidates with appropriate experience may be considered)

2+ years of experience in quantity surveying in the engineering or construction industry

Working knowledge of the NEC suite of contracts (particularly Options C & E)

Demonstrable experience of carrying out Quantity Surveying duties on engineering and/or construction projects

Good oral and written communication skills

Ability to build good relationships with project teams, clients, and the supply chain

Ability to work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines

PC literate in the Microsoft Office suite
