Job summary

AF ECO Ltd, part of United Infrastructure Group, seeks an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team. The role offers hands-on experience, exposure to valuations, final accounts, procurement and cost control, with a view to professional accreditation such as AssocRICS or MRICS.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a QS degree or equivalent, with strong numerical and communication skills, and a willingness to develop commercially and professionally.

Qualifications

• Working towards a degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• NEC3 / 4 experience desirable
• Experience in construction/civil engineering environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support the Commercial and finance team in the effective commercial management of projects.
• Assist with the preparation, submission, and agreement of interim valuations and final accounts.
• Support the procurement process, including issuing enquiries, analysing quotations, and preparing subcontract orders.
• Measure, price, and value variations in line with contractual requirements.
• Maintain accurate cost records and assist in preparing cost reports and forecasts.
• Help monitor project budgets, cost control measures, and financial performance.
• Attend site meetings to gather information needed for valuations, variations, and reporting.
• Assist with the preparation of tender documents and bills of quantities.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant industry standards.
• Engage with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to support smooth project delivery.
