Job summary

Recruit Build Limited is seeking an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join its growing independent construction consultancy, delivering Project Management, Cost Management and Advisory services across Yorkshire and the wider UK.

Working alongside experienced Cost Managers and Project Managers, you will gain direct exposure to clients, handle a varied project portfolio and progress toward MRICS accreditation in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related construction discipline.
• 2-4 years' experience in Quantity Surveying, preferably in a consultancy.
• Experience with pre-contract and/or post-contract cost management.
• Experience with public sector projects is advantageous.
• Working towards MRICS accreditation or chartership.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with feasibility estimates, cost plans and project budgets.
• Supporting the preparation of tender documentation and tender evaluations.
• Assisting with procurement and contractor selection.
• Preparing valuations, assessing variations and supporting final account negotiations.
• Monitoring project costs, cash flow and financial performance.
• Supporting cost reporting and risk management.
• Working with senior colleagues, design teams and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
• Developing knowledge of JCT and NEC construction contracts.
